CHERYL POLLOCK, Lady Cher Stitch Studio, LLC
Currently I am developing my first garment pattern, having sold my Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine Dealership in Albany, NY. It has been quite a journey designing the pattern, sewing and embroidering the sample, writing and illustrating the instructions. Test sewists are seeing how well the instructions work. Hopefully my first pattern will be sent to to the printer by the end of April 2012.
My machine sewing experience began when I was 8 years old and joined a 4-H Club which my mother was co-leading. My days of boredom in the country ended, since we always had fabric to sew on with Grandma’s Singer treadle.
I have a passion for Victorian and Edwardian costumes. I feel these periods were the most glorious in design and construction in the history of fashions. I love trying to replicate their work. For this reason, I jumped at the chance to sew for the vpll 1912 Project.
Joining the 1912 Titanic Project has involved me in my first blog entry. Yes, I am computer challenged and a bit overwhelmed by all the modern ways of communicating.
